Neckbands are an excellent choice if you’re looking for an audio accessory you can easily carry around. They are the perfect blend of TWS and headphones, their buds are the same size as most wireless buds, but their added neck area ensures you get extra battery life.

Also, these will be perfect if you’re clumsy and keep losing your earbuds.

We have two popular neckbands to compare today. The first one is boAt’s popular Rockerz 255 Pro Plus neckband. Our second contender, Zebronics’ Zeb Yoga N3, comes with cool DC collab variants that you can flex.

But which one should you choose and which performs better overall? You’ll know once we compare them.

How to Choose the Best Neckband for You?

There is so much that goes into buying a new neckband. Since they have some wires and more space for battery, their specs are slightly better than those of wireless earbuds.

But they are still Bluetooth audio devices, so sound quality and battery are essential features you should look out for. We’ve made this process easier for you by comparing both neckbands and giving a verdict based on which neckband has the best features.

2. Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3

Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3 comes at an excellent price point but is still filled with features. Some of their features include a large 14.2 mm driver, ENC for calling, and dynamic low-latency gaming mode. In fact, Zebronics has a collaboration with DC so they also have three variants with different DC characters.

boAt Rockerz 255 Pro+ Vs Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3: 4 Factor Comparison

Here are all the crucial features we tested boAt Rockerz 255 Pro+ and Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3 on.

1. Design

Here is a comparison to help you choose the most stylish neckband out of the two.

boAt Rockerz 255 Pro+

boAt Rockerz 255 Pro+ has not done anything innovative regarding design, which disappointed us. The only good feature we see is with their earbuds. They come with winged tips to offer a more secure and snug fit.

However, the winged tips make them uncomfortable. I couldn’t wear them for more than an hour during testing.

They also have a metallic finish that comes with a subtle boAt logo on them. The earbuds come with magnets, but they aren’t strong enough to keep them in place.

Rockerz 255 Pro+ comes in 3 different colour variants – blue, black, and green. I have the blue variant with me.

Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3

Design Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3

Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3 comes in 6 different variants. They have collaborated with DC to bring three variants after different DC characters, namely Joker, Aquaman, and Black Adam.

Even the buttons follow the theme and come in an arrow shape. You’ll find Aquaman’s logo on the earbuds.

The ear tips are great; they have a plastic build but still feature a cool metallic finish. You also get a magnet on the buds for a secure fit.

The ear tips don’t have wings, but the silicone ear tips ensure a good fit. They also offer a universal build and extra sound isolation because of the design. They won’t fall off during working out and are reasonably comfortable when we use them during testing.

Who Wins?

The win has to go to Zebronics Zeb Yoga. They have a cool DC collab with a unique design, and their fit and comfort are also great.

2. Durability

Let’s see which neckband has better quality and is built more durable.

boAt Rockerz 255 Pro+

Durability boAt Rockerz 255 Pro+

boAt Rockerz 255 Pro+ comes with an IPX7 rating, the highest rating we found among the neckbands we reviewed. IPX7 means your neckband will be okay even if you submerge it in water for 30 minutes. You can even take these swimming if you don’t exceed the 30-minute time limit.

The overall build of the neckband feels cheap. The neckband has a plastic-y build with a rubberized finish, which makes it flexible. It is on the thinner side, which makes it prone to breaking.

The wiring after the neckband also feels flimsy. boAt has used flat wires, but they are thin and could break if not handled carefully. They have three multifunctional buttons and a charging slot on the side.

Overall, it lacks in build and could have improved in this area.

Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3

Durability Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3

Zeb Yoga N3 has IPX5 water resistance, so they can easily sustain light water splashes and won’t be damaged. However, we weren’t that impressed with their build.

Zebronics hasn’t used a durable material on the neckband, so they feel flimsy and cheap to touch. They also have used plastic for the build, which makes a sound when you move them around too much.

The wires on the earbuds are thin and round, so they have a greater risk of breaking. The neckband is longer, so it will move around when you’re running or working out.

Who Wins?

To be honest, I’m disappointed with the build of both neckbands. However, the saving grace of boAt Rockerz 255 pro plus is their high IPX rating, so they win this category.

3. Functions and Connectivity

Here is a comparison to find which neckband has better connectivity and functionality.

boAt Rockerz 255 Pro+

Functions and Connectivity boAt Rockerz 255 Pro+

boAt Rockerz 255 Pro+ comes with Bluetooth 5.2 and covers a radius of 10 metres. There are no issues with connectivity, and you can easily pair them to your device.

They also have a pairing option so you can connect them to 2 devices at the same time. I connected them to 2 devices during testing, and they switched seamlessly between both.

They also come with a voice assistant feature and a gaming mode. The gaming mode has a latency between 50 to 60 ms, which is decent. I played a few games and faced no issues with lag. I could also hear everything going on in the game.

Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3

Functions and Connectivity Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3

Zeb Yoga N3 has Bluetooth version 5.2, dual pairing, and Google Assistant and Siri support. Zebronics claims you’ll get less lag when you use this neckband.

They have clarified a latency of around 50 ms, and we wanted to test them out. I used them for playing games, and the 50 ms latency is justified.

I had no issues and faced no lags, so I can recommend this neckband for gaming.

Who Wins?

Both neckbands are, dare I say, neck and neck when it comes to functions and connectivity. However, Zebronics has the upper hand because of its lower latency while gaming.

4. Battery Backup and Charging

Here is a comparison of battery life and charging to decide which neckband will last you longer.

boAt Rockerz 255 Pro+

Battery Backup and Charging boAt Rockerz 255 Pro+

boAt has used a 300 mAh battery on the Rockerz 255 Pro+. boAt does claim that they will last you for 50 hours if you listen at 50% volume. However, when I tested them out, they fell short of the claim and lasted only 40 hours.

If you use them moderately, then they should last you for three days.

You also get an ASAP charging feature where you get 6 hours of playback with 10 minutes of charge.

Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3

Battery Backup and Charging Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3

Zebronics Zeb Yoga also comes with a 300 mAh battery. Zebronics promises a battery backup of around 45 hours when you use them at 60% volume.

I wanted to test out this claim and see how long they last. The claim is true, but only if you use them at 60% volume. Also, they lasted me around three days, but they will last longer if you don’t use them that often.

Who Wins?

boAt has a slightly lesser charge, but it comes with a fast charging feature, so it will come in handy, especially when you’re in a time crunch.

5. Sound Quality

Here is how sound quality differs between these Rockerz 255 Pro+ and Zeb Yoga N3.

boAt Rockerz 255 Pro+

boAt Rockerz 255 Pro+ comes with 10 mm audio drivers. When testing them out, I noticed that the sound was loud. If you listen at too much volume, the sound also tends to get distorted. The sound profile also leans more bass-heavy.

The sound signature and output weren’t up to expectations. You’ll probably be disappointed with the sound quality if you’re an audiophile.

Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3

Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3

Zebronics Zeb Yoga N3 comes with massive 14.2 mm sound drivers, the largest among all the neckbands we’ve reviewed so far.

Their sound quality is really good. The larger the drivers in an audio device, the better and louder sound they can produce with ease. Plus, the bass and treble are also great. I was impressed by the sound quality and had no complaints.

However, if you exceed the 70% volume mark, you’ll notice a little sound leakage. Overall, the sound quality is excellent, and you won’t see any issues.

Who Wins?

No contention here; we liked the sound quality of Zebronics better. Zeb Yoga manages bass and treble really well to give you a unique audio experience.
