Who is EKSA E7000 Fenrir For?

This headset is a go-to for casual gamers considering the sound quality. Though you can hear the background sound in the games, you’ll need to put your PC’s and headset volumes to ‘maximum’ for a better gaming experience.

Besides, the headphones aren’t suitable for movies and songs and would be better if the use is limited to its purpose, i.e., gaming.

Important Factors We Tested These EKSA E7000 Fenrir On

Here are the crucial factors we tested the headset on:

1. Design

Design

Eksa Fenrir Gaming headphones come with a unique gaming headphone design giving you a gamer-esque look.

It doesn’t have the RGB but has green werewolf lights, which is quite unique. Although the brand claims that the headphones have a werewolf design, I had a hard time seeing it on the headphones.

Not having RGB lights isn’t a major concern since you won’t be able to look at the lights when you’re playing. But yes, while playing games on the phone, the LED won’t light up.

The LED light only works when you have the USB plugged in. So the lights won’t turn on if you’re gaming on your phone with a 3.5 mm jack and without the USB port plugged in.

Another disadvantage of the light is that they only glow in the eyes of the figure; the rest of it has no light.

Build Quality

These headphones come with long braided cables, so you can easily plug them into any device to use.

The 3.5 mm jack is a combination of both a microphone and a headphone jack. The brand has also provided a splitter in case your PC needs the green speaker jack and pink microphone input.

The headphones are extremely flexible, so you can bend them any way you like, and you won’t have to worry about them breaking.

The inside of the headband has a metallic build, giving these headphones more area to move without breaking.

You get 2 button options – one is a mute button that lets you control the microphone, and a volume control option. It doesn’t come with any other controls on the cable.

Comfort

Comfort

Eksa Fenrir headphones are incredibly comfortable. I used them for long hours during gaming and felt like I had nothing on.

The headband has padding and cushioning, so you won’t feel like you have anything heavy. It is also adjustable, so you can adjust it according to your head size.

The earcups are large enough to fit comfortably over your head. They also come with clear left and right markings to easily distinguish them.

Their clamping force is also not much, so you won’t feel pressure while wearing them. They are also relatively light, so you won’t feel like you have anything on your head.

The earcups come with comfortable PU leather earpads. A great thing about the earpads is that you can detach them, so you’ll easily be able to replace them once they wear out. They have snaps that keep them in place, so you won’t even have to worry about cutting them off or using an adhesive to stick them.

Some headphones have the option to rotate the earcups, ensuring a comfortable fit. These headphones cannot be titled; having the option to do so would have been nice.

2. Sound Quality

Sound Quality

EKSA E7000 FENRIR comes with powerful 50 mm drivers, but how well do they perform?

It doesn’t come with 7.1 surround sound like a lot of other gaming headphones; they come with stereo sound instead.

If I talk about the overall sound quality, it’s ‘Average.’ As mentioned earlier, I had to set the PC and the headset’s volume to maximum because their sound is on the lower end. I had to keep both the headphones and PC’s volume to hear what was going on in the game clearly.

The overall volume is low, which is disappointing since gaming headphones are supposed to have louder sound.

In-Game Experience

When it comes to sound quality, the bass wasn’t punchy as I expected; it’s slightly subdued. It’s balanced, so it won’t overwhelm you; I really liked the bass. The treble also works well. You’ll easily be able to hear footsteps in the game. I was able to hear sounds clearly and differentiate from left to right.

You’ll also get surround sound experience, so you get to experience 360 audio. This also helps capture all of the sounds inside the game, giving you that complete immersive experience like you’re inside the game. I really liked gaming on these.

However, if you’re a serious gamer, I probably won’t recommend these as the sound is on the lower end, and you’ll still face issues as increasing it is a hassle.

I used them on my phone, and the gaming experience was much better.

Multimedia Experience

I also wouldn’t recommend it for sound quality; although it’s good for gaming, I’m not sure about other areas, and the volume is disappointing.

My experience watching movies and series on it was also okay. They are comparable to other headphones, and there is nothing unique about the sound.

Don’t expect too much from the sound quality. In my experience, you should stick to gaming as they perform well in that area.

3. Mic Quality

Mic Quality

The mic on the EKSA E7000 FENRIR has a relaxed look, and the brand claims that it gives you crystal clear sound.

It is attached to the ear cup, so there is no way to remove it. However, it is made from a flexible material and is 120-degree rotatable, so you can adjust the positioning according to your comfort.

The mic also has noise-reduction capabilities and can be moved around easily. There is also a mute button on the ear cups that lets you disable the mic.

However, while testing out the mic, I found a lot of distortion. My voice wasn’t clear, and it also picked up a lot of background noise. It didn’t really give me the smooth experience I was looking for, so I can’t find myself recommending it for multiplayer games.

What Sets EKSA E7000 Fenrir Apart From Competitors?

The differentiating factor about these headphones is definitely their design. The unique werewolf design with mean eyes that light up when you play is what sets EKSA E7000 Fenrir apart from gaming headphones. It is budget-friendly and gives you gamer-esque at an affordable price.

The sound quality for gaming is also pretty good. You’ll get surround sound which gives you an immersive experience and lets you hear everything going on in the game.

Should You Purchase the EKSA E7000 Fenrir?

Should You Purchase the EKSA E7000 Fenrir

To a casual gamer, Yes, you can go for it without munching the details. If you do occasional gaming, you wouldn’t be bothered by the sound quality.

I wouldn’t recommend these headphones to serious games owing to their average sound and mic quality. The volume is lower, and with the distortion of the mic, your voice won’t get through as clearly.

FAQ’s

Are Eksa E7000 headphones good for listening to music?

Since the bass is punchy, EKSA E7000 Fenrir isn’t perfect for music.

Eksa is a gaming headset manufacturer from Sokolow, Poland.

The price of EKSA headphones is currently 2,190 but is subject to fluctuations.

EKSA E7000’s mic quality is average, and it doesn’t capture much of the background  noise.

Conclusion

EKSA E7000 Fenrir didn’t really turn out to be what I expected. Considering the design, it ought to be more specific with the sound and microphone quality.

If you’re a serious gamer, I wouldn’t really recommend them as their sound is on the lower end, and you won’t really have a good experience. They also don’t have RGB lights which they have substituted with green lights, but in my opinion, RGB lights would have been better. You also get lights when you’re using them on the phone, which is also a downside, in my opinion.

If you’re a casual gamer, then you can use these sometimes to play games on your phone. They are also a good option if you own a gaming console. But overall, I wouldn’t really recommend these.

Though the brand claims that it has a crystal clear sound no matter where you position the mic, there were distortions when I tested them out. The sound quality is close to average, yet it was quite useful when identifying approaching enemies.

To conclude, if you’re a casual gamer looking for pocket-friendly gaming headphones with an appealing gamer-esque look, you can go for it. Still, I wouldn’t recommend it to passionate gamers. And yet, the market is yours to choose from.
