Who is Redgear Cosmo 7.1 For?

Regear Cosmo 7.1 is for gamers who want to enjoy really good sound quality during gaming. They also come with good build quality, so if you don’t want to worry about replacing your headphones too soon, these are great.

Important Factors We Tested These Redgear Cosmo 7.1 On

Here are all the important factors we tested Redgear Cosmo 7.1 on.

1. Design

Design

The headband is adjustable and comes with metallic arches. You get Redgear branding on them. When it comes to buttons and functions, you’ll get volume rockers, a mute button, and a dedicated button for RGB lights.

Redgear Cosmo 7.1 comes with a really cool design. Even though they are on the slightly bulky side, they have a fantastic look to them. They come with excellent quality that gives them the authentic gamer look.

You also get a superb texture on top, giving the lights an added effect.

I have the white variant with me, which makes the RGB lights pop even more. These headphones come in 2 variants – black and white.

The RGB lights start flashing once you plug the USB wire into your PC or any other device.

Build

Redgear Cosmo 7.1 comes with big over-the-ear headphones covering your ears and making you feel comfortable. They also give you sound isolation by just putting them on.

These headphones come with an extended 2.2 braided wire so you can easily connect them to any device you want, including – a TV, PC, or gaming console.

The only wire you get is a USB type A connector. You’ll have to get a connector if you want to connect them to your phone.

I also liked the headband on them. Redgear has used soft padding material, so you won’t feel like you have anything on. The headphones have redgear embedded on top of the headband, giving a cool look.

You’ll also find redgear branding at the end of the metallic arches. Redgear does have a cool-looking logo which makes all the branding add to the look of the headphones.

In my experience, a con with the design is the microphone. Redgear has used a weird material on the mic, which gives a plastic-y feel, and they could have used a different material. This is the only con I could find with the build. Otherwise, everything else is good.

Comfort

Comfort

I found Redgear Cosmo 7.1 headphones to be comfortable. The ear cups are thick with good padding, which indicates that these headphones will be comfy. I have headphones on for long hours, so comfort is essential.

The headband is also comfortable because they adjust according to your head size. This also means you won’t feel too much clamping force. So overall, their fitting is comfortable.

When I used the headphones, if you are not used to big headphones, the size might bother you a little. You will need to take some time to get used to them.

2. Sound Quality

I was really impressed when I first put these headphones on and listened to them. Redgear Cosmo 7.1 headphones have 50 mm sound drivers and produce amazing sound.

Gaming Experience

Gaming Experience

Something I want to emphasize is the fantastic bass and treble quality. Both of these are really important to enhance your gaming experience. When playing games, treble helps you pick out all the details, like footsteps or firing in the distance.

All of these are important to know what is going on in the game and to stay alert. In my experience this totally enhanced my experience of playing the game.

The bass is also boosted, so you can hear explosions and loud sounds. After my hands-on analysis, I approve of this for playing games.

Multimedia Use

However, when it comes to multimedia usage, like watching movies or playing songs, I wouldn’t really recommend them. These are loud headphones, so if you use these headphones to play songs, the mids and lows tend to get suppressed.

Another thing to keep in mind, If you listen to them at 100% volume, then you might experience some voice leakage.

I wouldn’t say they are bad in terms of sound quality. In my experience, it is better to stick to gaming on these headphones, as they perform well in that area.

3 Mic Quality

Mic Quality

Redgear Cosmo 7.1 promises a noise-cancelling microphone that enhances your voice quality and reduces background noise, so I had high expectations from it.

However, it did not disappoint. I used the mic for testing, and my voice was clear with minimal background noise.

If you’re considering these headphones for streaming or playing games with your friends, go ahead without a second thought. The mic quality is excellent, and you won’t face issues.

4. Software and Compatibility

Software and Compatibility

Redgear mentions on the box that these are programmable, so what does that exactly mean? This means they come with software that lets you make some changes to them. When you install the headphones’ driver on your PC, the software also gets installed.

Once you open the app, you’ll be able to access all the functions of your headphones. You get access to sound equalisers with different presets to choose from. You can also change the RGB lights according to liking from this app. This also lets you make changes to the mic settings. There is also the option to customise 7.1 surround sound.

To be honest, I found the functions of these headphones slightly outdated. They come with a disk even though newer PCs come without disk drivers.

What Sets Redgear Cosmo 7.1 Apart From Competitors?

Redgear Cosmo 7.1 differs from its competitors because of their build quality and design. Cosmo 7.1 headphones are strongly built, so you won’t have to worry about replacing them anytime soon.

They feel comfortable yet haven’t compromised on the build, so the headphones are also sturdy.

I am a fan of the design, and the added option to further customise it is also good.

Redgear Cosmo 7.1 vs. Redgear Comet 7.1

Both Redgear Cosmo 7.1 and Redgear Comet 7.1 come under the same brand. People are frequently confused about which one to get among these headphones, which makes it fair to compare them.

Redgear Cosmo 7.1 has good built quality, but I understand how some people might find it uncomfortable to wear because of the size. In comparison, Redgear Comet 7.1 comes in a much lighter form factor, making it more comfortable to wear.

In terms of build quality, Cosmo 7.1 seems better. Redgear Comet 7.1 has some extra customization options, but ultimately, Cosmo 7.1 will last you longer.

The sound quality on both these headphones is similar. However, I noticed that the gameplay felt much clearer on Cosmo 7.1.

If you’re trying to choose between these headphones, I’d say go with Redgear Cosmo 7.1, as it has a better build and sound quality.

Should You Purchase Redgear Cosmo 7.1?

I would say yes. I ordered these headphones because they were popular and a fan favourite. They live up to the hype.

They have good build and design, so they look stylish while also lasting you a long while. They are affordable and have great features like 7.1 surround sound, so you cannot go wrong with them.
