TWS earbuds Ranking – From Best to Worst

Now that you’ve gotten a brief overview of all the competing earbuds, which is the best?

Let’s get into the rankings.

1. Ptron Bassbuds Jade

Ptron Bassbuds Jade

Brief Overview

Ptron Bassbuds are a great budget gaming earbuds option. They have a typical gamer look, come with LED lights, and a 40 ms low latency mode.

Additional features include 40 hours of playtime and 13 mm Dynamic Drivers for excellent sound quality.

Why Do They Have Their Position on The List?

They are an excellent value for the price. Gaming accessories usually come at a steep price, but these offer many great features. The sound quality is also good for multimedia usage, which is why these earbuds are at the top of my list.

Ptron Bassbuds Jade

Ptron Bassbuds Jade

  • 40 ms Low Latency
  • 13 mm Dynamic Drivers
  • 40 Hours of Playtime
  • LED Lights

Build & Design

Many earbuds on this list have a cool design, but Ptron Bassbuds Jade has a design that truly stands out. Since the brand has targeted these earbuds towards gamers, its LED light design gives it a distinctive look.

Part of the design also extends to the earbuds and features LED lights that glow when turned on. These lights make the earbuds versatile. You can use them both in brightly lit spaces or your dim gaming cave.

Battery Life

I was concerned about their battery life because of the LED lights, but Ptron Bassbuds Jade comes with a 400 mAh battery. The battery is massive, and you also get a playback time of 40 hours which lasts a long time.

Features

Ptron Bassbuds Jade comes with Bluetooth Version 5.0, which is slightly outdated, but I didn’t face any issues with connectivity. These earbuds also come with an IPX4 water resistance rating so that you can take them to the gym. They have a good fit, so they stay in your ears.

Sound Quality

The sound quality is really good on Bassbuds Jade. They manage all the sound elements perfectly, both highs and lows. You’ll also get great clarity with them while listening to music. These earbuds will perfectly capture all the sound effects in movies and TV shows.

What Sets Them Apart?

Ptron Bassbuds offers many features at a relatively competitive price. It’s hard to find good earbuds at this price range, but they outperformed all our expectations.

When Should You Get Them?

If you want a great pair of earbuds under Rs 1000, then these are a great option. You get a balanced output that is suited for both games and multimedia, along with an excellent design and loads of features.

Pros

Sound – Balanced sound output with good bass
Design – LED lights integrated design
Battery – Will last 2 – 3 days

Cons

Features – Slightly outdated; Bluetooth version 5.0

2. Wings Phantom 250

Wings Phantom 250

Brief Overview

Wings Phantom 250 are promised to be gaming headphones with 40 ms low latency. Since these are gaming earbuds, Wings has incorporated this into their design with LED lights on the case and the earbuds.

Why Do They Have Their Position on The List?

Wings Phantom 250 has great sound according to the price you pay. And coincidentally, they are also the most affordable option on our list, so they are a total bang for your buck. This is precisely why they are the No. 2 option on our list.

Wings Phantom 250

Wings Phantom 250

  • 13 mm Sound Drivers
  • IPX5
  • 40 ms Low Latency
  • Bluetooth 5.2
  • DNS Mic

Build & Design

Wings Phantom 250 comes in 2 colours, and I have the blue variant. The case is relatively compact, and it has a glossy finish overall. You’ll find Wing’s logo in front of the case. The design is quite sleek. In my experience, the stem on the earbuds is slightly long, but it didn’t cause any issues.

Their fitting is good, and they are quite comfortable to wear.

The build quality was decent but not as impressive as others on this list.

Battery Life

On Wings Phantom 250, the battery life is around 30 hours. You’ll have around 8 hours of battery backup on the earbuds and around 22 hours with the case. After usage and testing, they lasted me around 25 hours which is decent enough.

Sound Quality

The sound on Wings Phantom 250 is excellent according to the price. The loudness and detailing are also great. However, I found the treble and highs were missing at louder volumes. The bass is good at all levels. You’ll get good detailing if you keep your volume at around 60%.

I tested out the sound while gaming, and it was also good. The treble is adequate, and you can easily pick up all the details going on inside the game.

Features

These earbuds come with Bluetooth version 5.2, which connects really fast. They also come with touch controls.

What Sets Them Apart?

Wings Phantom 250 are a great pair of earbuds for gaming. I tested out the latency, and it was 40 ms which is ideal. The sound quality is also spot on and will be perfect while gaming.

When Should You Get Them?

These will be a great option if you’re looking for budget TWS earbuds specifically for gaming. They have low latency and pick up all the sound details inside the game. However, the sound quality isn’t as balanced for music, so keep that in mind. These earbuds are a great option if you stick to gaming.

Pros

Gaming – low latency; no lag
Sound – Good treble while gaming
Comfort – Good comfort with great fitting

Cons

Design – Glossy case prone to fingerprints
Music- Not optimised for music

3. Boult Audio Z25

Boult Audio Z25

Brief Overview

Boult Audio Z25 are stylish earbuds in 3 colour variants. Some of their features include the latest Bluetooth version, 5.3, and 13 mm audio drivers for excellent sound quality.

Z25 has a battery life of 32 hours, ENC mics for clear calls, and a 45 ms low latency mode for seamless and lag-free gaming.

Why Do They Have Their Position on The List?

While the other options on this list primarily focus on gaming, Boult promises a range of features such as ENC for better calls and good sound quality for multimedia. It delivers on these promises, which is why they are 3rd on the list.

Boult Audio Z25

Boult Audio Z25

  • 32 Hours of Playback Time
  • ENC For Clear Calls
  • 45 ms Low Latency
  • 13 mm Audio Drivers

Build & Design

Boult Audio Z25 has one of the most minimal and compact designs out of all the earbuds on this list. I really liked their design, and the pastel blue variant I have also looks excellent. The case has an entirely matte finish. The build quality is good, but the lid on the case felt flimsy.

The earbuds themselves are also small in size and are an excellent option for carrying around.

Battery Life

Boult Audio Z25 comes with a battery life of 32 hours which is quite decent, I tested them out, and they lasted around 28 hours which is decent. They also have a fast charging feature that will give a playback of 150 minutes in just 10 minutes of charging. I also tried out this feature, and it worked accordingly to claim.

Sound Quality

The sound quality of Boult Audio Z25 is not as great, but it sounded better than some of the other Boult products I’ve tested in the past. The bass on these is also good. Coming to highs, detailing, like with instrumental sounds, and clarity in vocals is missing.

Features

These earbuds come with the latest Bluetooth version 5.3, so connecting them to your devices is a breeze.

What Sets Them Apart?

Many other options on this list primarily focus on gaming as their USP. However, these earbuds’ sole focus is not just on gaming. The features also focus on calling and multimedia usage, making these earbuds versatile for everyday use.

When Should You Get Them?

If you’re looking for a pair of earbuds that you can use for both music and multimedia and calling, then these are a great option.

Pros

Sound Quality – Good for multimedia
Features – Latest Bluetooth version

Cons

Connectivity – Pairing issues
Build Quality – Build quality is not up to mark

4. Tagg Rouge 100GT

Tagg Rouge 100GT

Brief Overview

Tagg Rouge 100GT are stylish earbuds perfect for all your gaming needs. They have a unique design that helps them stand out from the competition, along with RGB lights incorporated in their design.

These earbuds come with 50 ms low latency for lag-free gaming. Some other features are sound equalisers, clear calls with a quad mic setup, and a 10 mm driver that promises powerful sound.

Why Do They Have Their Position on The List?

Although Tagg offers many features with these earbuds, they are a letdown because of their sound quality. I tested them out with both games and multimedia; the sound quality was just decent enough for casual use.

Tagg Rouge 100GT

Tagg Rouge 100GT

  • 50 ms Low Latency
  • 10 mm Audio Drivers
  • Sound Equalizers
  • ENC With Quad Mic Setup

Build & Design

Tagg Rouge 100GT has a good look and feel. The case has many arrow designs, giving it a distinctive look. The case is also shaped differently. The earbuds are small in size and have a similar design story to the rest of the case.

However, the quality is slightly flimsy, and the case keeps shutting on its own. The case is also not sturdy, so the build quality felt slightly disappointing to me.

Battery Life

With Rouge 100GT, you’ll get around 20 hours of playback time which is slightly less compared to other earbuds on the list.

Features

Tagg Rouge 100GT promises a latency of around 50 ms, I tested out this claim, and it was around the same as claimed. These earbuds also come with built-in equalisers with 3 options to choose from. This was a good feature that lets you play around with the sound and personalise your listening experience.

Sound Quality

The sound quality on Rouge 100GT was just okay. The sound is not as differentiable. I tested them out with both music and multimedia. It was decent enough for casual usage but would probably not suit you if you are an audiophile that likes detailing in their sound.

What Sets Them Apart?

Their unique design is their biggest differentiating factor. They also have the addition of RGB lights for the typical gamer look. The sound equalisers are also a great addition not common among other earbuds on this list.

When Should You Get Them?

We had high hopes from the sound, but they let us down. If you like their look, these might be a good option for gaming. Their sound isn’t the best for music, so we recommend using multimedia and games.

Pros

Features – Sound Equalizers and Quad Mic
Design – Unique look with RGB lights

Cons

Sound Quality – Not up to the mark

5. Zebronics Zeb Sound Bomb 9

Zebronics Zeb Sound Bomb 9

Brief Overview

Zebronics are known for making great audio products under a budget and promise the same thing with their Zeb Sound Bomb 9. These TWS are packed with features such as Bluetooth 5.2, a mic setup for ENC calling, and a 50 ms low latency mode for lag-free gaming. Now the ball is in our court to test these earbuds out and see if they are true to claim.

Why Do They Have Their Position on The List?

Zebronics made many promises with these earbuds, but they turned out to be a letdown. Zeb Sound Bomb 9 were the least impressive earbuds we tested out, which is why they are at the bottom of our list.

Zebronics Zeb Sound Bomb 9

Zebronics Zeb Sound Bomb 9

  • Bluetooth 5.2
  • ENC Setup
  • Voice Assistant Support
  • 50 ms Gaming Mode

Build & Design

The design of Zebronics Zeb Sound Bomb 9 is quite minimal. However, I personally am not a fan of it and thought the brand could’ve done more with it. The earbuds come with a half-in-ear design, but they don’t feel as premium as the other options on this list.

Battery Life

Zebronics Zeb Sound Bomb 9 has a battery life of 16 hours which I felt was really low. The earbuds’ battery is even lower, and they don’t last more than 3 – 4 hours on a single charge. So many other earbuds are on the list that will last much longer.

Features

Zebronics Zeb Sound Bomb 9 comes with Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, Built-in microphones for supporting ENC, and a 50 ms low latency gaming mode.

Sound Quality

I listened to many songs using these earbuds to get a real feel for the sound quality. The bass felt suppressed. Music sounded good at 60 to 70%, but when I had the volume at 100%, the vocals got distorted, and the sound clarity also went down.

What Sets Them Apart?

We would say that price is a differentiating factor with them, but there are many good options on the list that are a better value for the price. These earbuds have no distinctive factors that perform better than other earbuds on this list.

When Should You Get Them?

After testing them for some time, we are not too keen on recommending them. There are many better options in this list that performed way better than these earbuds. We’d recommend going with them instead.

Pros

Design – Good fitting; comfortable

Cons

Sound Quality – Not up to the mark
Battery – Doesn’t have much lasting power

Conclusion

Now that we’re at the end of our ranking, hopefully, you’ve got a good idea of how all these earbuds perform and which ones will be the best for you.

Some of the earbuds surprised us with their performance, given the price, while some let us down. However, there are a lot of great options to choose from.

Ptron Bassbuds was the reigning champion with great quality across both music and gaming. However, if gaming is not a top priority and you’re looking for earbuds for calling, something like Wings Phantom 250 with a DNS mic might be a better option for you.

We hope this article helped you make a decision. Happy Listening!
