Who is Cosmic Byte Oberon For?

Cosmic Byte Oberon is for everyone looking for affordable headphones but does not want to compromise on sound quality or features. These headphones come packed with features, and you get a lot of options to customise.

If you play games on your phone, these are perfect as they come with an aux cable in the box, so you don’t have to purchase a different cable for it.

Important Factors we tested Cosmic Byte Oberon on

Here are all the important factors we tested Cosmic Byte Oberon on.

1. Design

Design

Cosmic Byte Oberon has a really good design. You get Spectra RGB lights that give you the gamer feel.

The ear cup also has a metallic mesh design, which adds to the look. The brand has used plastic material to achieve this look.

The RGB lights have a cool pattern and change colours. You can’t adjust the colours, but they look cool. You’ll also find Cosmic Byte’s logo in the middle.

They will look especially cool if you’re gaming in the dark, as they tend to glow.

2. Durability

This is how I feel about the durability, based on these headphones’ build quality and comfort level.

Build

Build

You get a gold-plated USB type A connector, and the cable is 2.2 metres long, so you can easily connect them to any device without worrying about tugging.

They also have a controller in the middle to control different functions. You can control the RGB, the volume and mute the mic.

The headband is adjustable, but the adjuster used inside is made of plastic, so you’ll have to handle it with care.

The ear cups have a lot of padding, but it’s not as comfortable as other headphones I’ve tried. In comparison, the headband is a lot more comfier.

The building is entirely made up of plastic. You won’t find any metal despite the metallic design. Despite the material used, the headphones still feel sturdy, and I liked the build quality and design.

Comfort

Comfort

I had them on for long hours during gaming, and they didn’t feel heavy. They are lightweight at 300 g since most other gaming headphones are bigger and bulkier. I didn’t feel like I had anything on.

Their rotating cups can also rotate 90 degrees, so you can comfortably place them in any position.

Overall, the build quality of these headphones is good. However, with the headphones I received, there’s a creaking sound whenever I move them around. I could have received a defective product, but I’m unsure.

Cosmic Byte should be ensuring better quality control regardless.

3. Sound Quality

Out of all the gaming headphones I’ve tested so far, I liked Redgear Cosmo 7.1 the best. They have great sound quality, but the only con is that they are bulky, which means you cannot wear them for long hours.

On the other hand, Cosmic Byte Oberon are lightweight. Their sound quality is at par with Redgear headphones, and I was majorly impressed with them.

Let’s get into the details and talk about the sound. The lows are fantastic on these headphones; the bass is boosted and enhances your audio experience. I had a lot of fun gaming on these headphones because they perfectly captured all the audio.

If you’re playing a story-based game like God of War or Elden Ring, the bass will enhance your gaming experience.

The highs, including the treble, also felt great. Playing games like Valorant and PUBG was a breeze. You’ll get clear sound throughout and know exactly what is happening inside the game.

You’ll also be easily able to differentiate all the different sounds and between left and right.

Overall, the sound experience on these headphones was one of the best out of everything I’ve tested so far. They get a big thumbs up.

4. Mic Quality

Mic Quality

Cosmic Byte Oberon comes with a detachable mic to connect and use. This feature also comes in handy because you don’t always need to have the mic. The option to connect them when you use them is great.

I tested them out with many different things going on in the background, like fan and AC noises. During testing, the quality was decent, it did pick up some background noise, and there was a slight distortion in voice.

We tested the Zebronic Zeb Crusher, and the quality of their mic was great. The mic on these headphones is also good. The quality isn’t that bad. You’ll have no issues playing multiplayer games on them; your voice will easily get through.

5. Functions and Connectivity

Functions and Connectivity

Many people also prefer gaming on their phones. You get an AUX cable so you can attach them to your gaming console or phone. This is a great feature because most gaming headphones do not provide this, and you have to go ahead and buy a different cable.

These headphones also come with 7.1 surround sound, so you’ll get a great experience with games supporting this feature. You’ll get an almost 3D sound with these, and I had a lot of fun testing this feature out.

For their software support, you can download it through Cosmic Byte’s official website.

You get the option to equalise sound and adjust the sample rate, plus you also get some options to adjust the mic. You also get the option to make adjustments to the 7.1 surround sound.

It comes with a 3.5 mm jack, the icing on the cake. Most headphones only come with a USB type A cable, but these are truly versatile.

What Sets Cosmic Byte Oberon Apart From Competitors?

Cosmic Byte Oberon comes at an affordable price but is still able to give competition to expensive headphones. They come in a relatively lighter form factor compared to other gaming headphones. This makes them comfortable to wear for long hours.

They also are compatible with phones as they come with a 3.5 mm jack out of the box. This is great as a lot of people tend to prefer their phones for playing games.

The sound quality is also exceptional, and you’ll find no compromises in that area. If you’re looking for good-quality gaming headphones, then these are the ones to go for.

Should you purchase Cosmic Byte Oberon?

I would say yes. You get an excellent deal for the price.

There is an aux port in the box, so you won’t have to worry about buying a different cable for your phone. You are also getting a great mic and sound quality.

These headphones are great for all multimedia consumption. You can play games and watch movies or listen to music. The highs, mids, and lows are all fantastic. I really liked these headphones, and they are a strong recommendation from me.
